It's time for the
Canadian Quilters Connect Blogathon, sponsored by
SewSisters quilt shop.
Welcome and thank-you for visiting with me at Books and Quilts.
I started blogging in 2007 and have posted regularly about my activities since then.
In Tuesdays I write about my needlework projects over the past week. it could be knitting, crochet, quilting, sewing and occasionally some embroidery.
I've recently started a new occasional Thursday post with a few friends that features out Zentangle challenges. It's a wonderful drawing method that I am planning to adapt to my machine quilting.
In between times, I post other items of interest, usually book reviews including occasional First Nations Fridays posts where I review books by First Nations Authors.
Below are photos of some of my recently finished quilt tops. Be sure to look through all of them as I am hosting a contest and the directions are after the photos.

Hi Heather!
I LOVE your disappearing 4 patch! I really need to make one of those.
I tried entering with the helicopter thingy but I'm not sure it went through. Maybe it doesn't work with my ancient iPad, lol!
The Flying Geese baby quilt is a favourite - how could I ever choose just one? ;-)
I had to do a double take when I saw that the quilt I noticed because of the interesting piecing and the lovely colours is called Ugly Fabrics Challenge! If only my uglies were that nice ....
Hello, Heather! How nice to meet you! Wow. Lots of lovely quilts in the works. I love your Birds of a Feather quilt!
Hi Heather. I love all your quilts and knitting and needlework. My fave is your Birds of Feather quilt. I just love it. You did such a wonderful job. I may not comment on every post but know that I read every post of yours and your blog is one of my all-time favourites. Now that you have added Zentangling...oh my...just wonderful.
It's hard to pick a favourite because they really are all so wonderful. Really! If I have to pick, though, I really like the Disappearing 4-patch.
Love your aiming for accuracy! Orange is a favorite color of mine, even though I don't think I've used it in enough quilts! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I am new to your blog but love what I see and will be back . I love the Birds of a Feather quilt . Thanks for the chance .
I like the Birds of a Feather one. But they are all beautiful!

Thanks for the cool giveaway!
Hi Heather,
I don't know if I timed out on our satelite internet so I'm leaving another comment. I really love this most recent quilt and I know you are into doing lots of reading and that you have found a balance of running, quilting and reading.
I've to know if this fav of mine "Stars are Shining" has a pattern or did you put it together yourself?
Thanks for the giveaway! and thanks so much for following me. :)
The Ugly Fabric Challenge quilt is fantastic! And I think it is my favourite - I love the intricacy of the design.
I like the Gretchen quilt but I also like the disappearing 4 patch and your colour choices.

I like the ugly fabric quilt. I love how "ugly" fabric turns into beautiful quilts--and I love medallions.
As I searched around, I saw some "nautical" blocks but I couldn't find the whole quilt, they looked great.

Hi Heather,
I tried leaving my opinion, but I must have done something wrong. So I'm doing it here. My favorite of your quilts is the Ugly Block Quilt, it's beautiful!! Love all the different colors you used and they all go together so well. Have a great day!!
P.S. I've got a different blog from the last time I visited you. Here is my new address.

I love your post about the disappearing 9 patch- I had not seen the variations that were on the post- I also loved the link to the Infinity scarves. My mom gave me one for my birthday and I thought they might be relatively simple to make. I will have to check around to find a knitted version too. Thanks for participating in the blog hop.
Regards from Alberta,
Anna
Seeing Stars ... I like the light coloured background - it makes the colour in the stars pop!
